    Project Manager I is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities of multiple bridge/highway constructions projects of $5 million or larger, including overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards. 

    Responsibilities

    Job Responsibilities Include:

     

    • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of multiple bridge/highway constructions projects of $5 million or larger, including overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
    • Oversee all phases of the construction project timeline.
    • Attend or host meetings with construction managers, engineers and owners to discuss project status and resolve issues.
    • Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) in Viewpoint to protect Company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client.
    • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, required documentation, and presentations.
    • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget revisions where necessary.
    • Identify problems with construction or design, submit RFI’s and process contract change orders.
    • Develop and maintain project schedule.
    • Ensure that milestones are being met.
    • Performs site visits and monitors progress of construction activities on a regular basis.
    • Report quantity and labor cost reports for estimating in Excel and Heavy Job.
    • Submit pay estimates to the owner.
    • Review engineering designs and implement construction layouts to improve sequences in bid build projects.
    • Assist engineers with design-build feedback.
    • Manage workforce requirements specific to work within secure access work environment; such as Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) program, secure zone escort process and document control security.
    • Apply experience and knowledge from Port projects involving construction of concrete aprons, underground and utilities and related improvements to facilitate bidding opportunities with clients.

    Qualifications

     Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's in Construction Management or Civil Engineering and 5 years of post-baccalaureate progressively responsible project engineering/management experience with bridge/highway constructions project of $5 million or larger, including at least 2 years' experience with Viewpoint, Primavera P6, HCSS Software or comparable software and 1 year's engineering/management experience on Port projects involving construction of concrete aprons, underground and utilities and related improvements.

     Alternate Requirements:                 

    • Master's in Construction Management or Civil Engineering and 3 years of project engineering/management experience with bridge/highway constructions project of $5 million or larger, including at least 2 years' experience with Viewpoint, Primavera P6, HCSS Software or comparable software and 1 year's engineering/management experience on Port projects involving construction of concrete aprons, underground and utilities and related improvements.

     Travel Requirements:                       

    • Up to 25% travel required to visit construction project sites and meet clients
