  • Overview

    Summary 

    Provide direction, oversight and assistance for providing owned and rented equipment to the projects as per their operational plans.  Oversee and direct the haul truck operation for moving equipment and materials to and from project.  Assist, maintain and direct other logistical operations such as fuel accountability, equipment revenue tracking, parts purchasing, reporting, and minor equipment repairs.  Assist with the coordination between maintenance and equipment availability.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Plan equipment and material moves with superintendents, service manager/field technicians, transport drivers, vendors and suppliers 

    • Coordinate third party transport, (outside hauls) of equipment in a timely and cost effective manner

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date reporting of equipment locations, revenue costs and fuel usage 

    • Maintain rented equipment documentation and contract information

    • Ensure CDL drivers operate in accordance with D.O.T. and FMVSA rules and regulations and daily logs and inspection forms are maintained

    • Conduct periodic site visits as required in order to ensure effective communications with transport and field personnel and eliminate logistic issues

    • Collect equipment hours/mileage readings and verifies accurate reporting

    • Enters equipment billing to projects and verifies entries into ViewPoint and Heavy Job systems

    • Manage bulk fuel inventories and fuel allocations to projects

    • Process Purchase Orders for Equipment Department purchases

    • Assist the Equipment Manager or Service Manager.

    • Monitor shop work orders, D.O.T. Driver Log and DVIR input into JJ Keller

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience 

    • High School degree or equivalent

    • At least 5 years’ of experience in the construction field or Automotive field or equivalent work experience

    • General knowledge or understanding of Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Vehicle Administration rules and regulations

     Skills

    • Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Viewpoint Construction Software
    • Valid Drivers License
