Texas Sterling Construction Co. seeks a degreed and experienced Project Engineer to work in the DFW area, Texas to track, communicate, forecast and manage costs for heavy civil construction projects.


  • Track, communicate, forecast and manage costs for heavy civil construction projects using Viewpoint. Complete material takeoff to accurately estimate material quantity.
  • Prepare RFI’s, obtain approvals, track and monitor critical or key data and progress.
  • Maintain critical knowledge of the job to obtain all required submittals to the owner for timely review to meet project milestones.
  • Maintain submittal logs to show and monitor critical or key data and progress.
  • Prepare monthly pay requests in a manner consistent with the Contract documents.
  • Keep track and log completed quantities to facilitate invoicing, scheduling and budgetary monitoring needs and report creation.
  • Perform scheduling to ensure availability of materials, equipment, and deploy human resources as applicable.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly costs reports and forecasts, as well as prepare other cost and quantity reports.
  • Incorporate safety mechanisms into all temporary works, and review designs to ensure all safety standards and regulations are adequately met.
  • Assist project management in preparing project baseline schedules and monthly schedule updates.
  • Conduct inspections, complete documentation and other administrative requirements necessary to procure, maintain and terminate all necessary environmental permits.
  • Perform Safety & Risk Management Processes to ensure timely and accurate incident/injury reporting, perform related administrative processes.
  • Draft and maintain written copy of the project meeting minutes for progress meetings, including action items and entity responsible.


Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Industrial Engineering and 5 years of experience in civil construction cost estimating using Viewpoint or similar construction management or scheduling software.
